The team 

The Licensing team is the Australian Securities & Investment Commission’s front line gatekeeper for our regulated participants. The team is responsible for assessing applications from those seeking a financial services or consumer credit license, or to become registered to provide company audit and SMSF audit services to Australian consumers and businesses. The function involves assessing that applicants are fit and proper, have the knowledge and skills to provide the relevant services, have adequate financial, human and technological resources, and appropriate systems and procedures to perform their roles efficiently, honestly and fairly.  

The role 

As an Administration Support Officer, you will be required to:

  • assess and prepare files for Australian Financial Services (AFS) and Credit licensing applications (new and variations), auditor and liquidator applications, suspensions and cancellations
  • correspond and communicate with external stakeholders
  • accurately and efficiently register information into ASIC's databases 
  • coordinate inquiries to prepare data, using databases and through liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • assist with information for hearing delegates, freedom of information requests and subpoenas
  • communicate with the public or ASIC's regulated population as appropriate
  • provide administration support and assistance to other teams as required.

About you

  • A high school / secondary education certificate or diploma.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience in following procedures and defined processes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Experience using a variety of software applications.
