What Does an Insurance Underwriter Do?

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will:

• Risk Assessment: Evaluate and assess the risks associated with insuring individuals and businesses.
• Policy Development: Develop and determine the terms and conditions of insurance policies.
• Decision Making: Decide on the acceptance and pricing of insurance applications based on risk assessment.
• Data Analysis: Analyse statistical data to assess the likelihood of a risk and determine appropriate premium rates.
• Client Interaction: Work closely with insurance brokers and clients to provide tailored insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough research to understand and assess risks.
• Analyse and compare different insurance products to provide optimal solutions.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and policies.
• Handle queries and provide timely support to brokers and clients.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and client interactions.

• Full Australian working rights.
• Degree qualification or higher within the past 3 years.
• Achieved a credit average (65%) or higher.
