Our paid internship program will give you the opportunity to put into practice what you have been learning throughout your studies and gain invaluable experience in the defence and security industry.

The program runs for up to 12 weeks over the December to February period (including the end of year shutdown period from 21 December 2024 – 5 January 2025 inclusive).

During this placement, you will work alongside our experts gaining experience on real-life projects and case studies. You will learn from colleagues who are specialists in their field and develop your skills and knowledge further.

The roles offered in our upcoming program include:

Melbourne based:

• Graphic Design: Create 3D designs of field hospitals for marketing material, white papers and other communications uses.
• Marketing & Communications: Evaluate current marketing plan against objectives and work alongside stakeholders to create the 2024 marketing & communications plan. Design specific activities to support objectives including advertising, events and social media.

Please note as these roles are not part of the Saab core Engineering and Project Management business lines, we unfortunately do not have the regular pathways into graduate roles in these disciplines.

About you:

To be eligible for the Saab Australia Internship Program, you will need to meet the following criteria: 

• You will be in your penultimate year or have completed at least 2 years of a Bachelor’s Degree
• You will be an Australian citizen and able to meet defence industry security requirements

We are seeking degree specialisations in the below disciplines (or similar):

• Graphic Design
• Marketing
• Communications
• Journalism
