About the role

Our established and vibrant team is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. This role is suitable for a qualified candidate to work on a diverse range of projects. The candidate will ideally have some experience in the design of Commercial Buildings projects.

Day to day tasks would involve:

  • HVAC design and contract administration duties in accordance with code and company quality standards
  • HVAC Engineering, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation
  • Self-management skills will be as important as your technical design and project management abilities
  • Prioritise workloads whilst ensuring our clients’ needs are met whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with your colleagues both locally and across the international Stantec team.
  • Build and develop your professional profile both internally and externally by consistently demonstrating an ability to successfully deliver projects.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of service to Clients.
  • Execute project design, documentation and contract administration services including regular project reviews
  • Be accurate, diligent, and professional.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and other consultants.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent
  • 0-3 years experience in a similar role required
  • Revit experience advantageous
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
  • Ability to apply technical expertise in a way that balances commercial profitability, QA adherence, risk management and the morale of others.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use initiative and think outside the box
  • Positive, can-do attitude
