Our Organisation

As the oldest bank and first company in Australia, we have more than 200 years of continuous service to the people of Australia.  Through our unique portfolio of brands, we support and serve over 13.9 million customers.

In 2019 Westpac was named Australia’s most sustainable bank by the Dow Jones Sustainability index.  It was also our 18th year in a row as a global banking leader, achieving the 9th spot globally.  This year, we were awarded first place by the Australian Network on Disability in the Access & Inclusion Top Performers 2021-22 list.

When you join us, you’ll be empowered to make a difference, speak your truth and discover what success means to you.

Our Program

We’re looking to fill our programs with original thinkers and innovators from all degrees of study.  Challenging and rewarding – our programs will get your career off to a flying start.

Eligibility

You must be Australian or New Zealand Citizen OR an Australian Permanent Resident, AND be in your final year of study of a university degree OR completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree no more than 3 years ago.

You’ll need to be available to start with us as a permanent employee in February 2023.

Our Risk Program

Be part of cultivating Westpac's competitive edge in the market by striking the right balance between protecting and optimising business.  Working across a broad network of stakeholders, we develop relationships, build trust and help solve problems.

This is a 12-month program with 3 x 4-month rotations.  You will work across diverse Risk business teams to understand the different focuses across the Group Risk Function.  All rotations are supported with on-the-job training, project work, practical workshops and keynote events that will strengthen your Risk knowledge, capability and skills.

The 3 rotations are pre-determined, selected for diversity and broad experience to inform Risk career direction.

A career in Risk could result in roles such as a business analyst, modeller, risk manager and quantitative analyst.

We're looking for people who are passionate, strategic, innovative and keen to understand the interconnected nature of our systems, processes and people, whilst linking the risks and opportunities.  Graduates from all disciplines are welcome to apply. A quantitative aptitude, the ability to problem solve and strong leadership potential are an advantage.

Online Application

Your application will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and must be submitted online.  You will need to upload a PDF or Word version of your resume AND a copy of your Academic Transcripts.

IMPORTANT: When completing the application form, please ensure you EXPAND ALL SECTIONS to INCLUDE your EDUCATION details and UPLOAD your RESUME & ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT.
